National Assembly strongly recommends buying presidential jet

The Finance Committee strongly recommends allocation of an amount of money in the 2019/2020 budget proposal for buying a presidential jet.
 
MP David Nailo Mayo explains that there is no guarantee in President Salva Kiir travels in commercial flights.
 
‘Since our independence on ninth July 2011, the President of the Republic of South Sudan has been travelling on commercial flights whose security cannot be guaranteed. Notwithstanding the quorum of our top diplomat, the Committee of Finance and Economic Planning, strongly recommends immediate purchase of a jet for the president’, he says.
 
MP Nailo stresses much on honoring the President of the Republic after approving all facilitations of the MPs.
 
Chairperson of Information Committee in the national Assembly, Paul Yoane Bonju, reveals that MPs raised important issues to be implemented including construction of all bridges, roads and airstrips in states.
 
The Assembly also proposed the empowerment of youth, improvement of education, health and agricultural sectors, he adds.
 
The officials were speaking at Transitional National Legislature during the second reading of the budget report on Wednesday.
