‘Our martyrs didn’t die in vain’, Acting Speaker of the Wau State Legislative Assembly told the public during martyrs’ day celebration on Tuesday.
 
Viola Alexander Umeli says South Sudan is a sovereign country because fallen heroes and heroines ‘have sacrificed their lives for the sake of our freedom’, Voice of Hope Radio reports.
 
The Acting Speaker stresses that ‘if we leave our differences and work together as one people of one nation then we will offer the best services to our civilians and the young generation to come’.
 
MP Umeli mentions that the families of the martyrs are expecting a lot of things from the government like good educational for their kids to learn and live good life in the future.
 
Acting speaker made the remarks during the 14th Martyrs Day celebration at Wau Stadium on Tuesday.
