Two teachers of Ngath Secondary School, aprivate school, are in police custody accused of taking teachers’ incentives on Saturday.
According to the police, head teacher Alfred Ater and chairperson of the board of directors Bith Manyuon Ngor are allegedly reported to have divided the money meant for all teachers’ incentives, Good News Radio reports.
Director-General of the Ministry of Education Agolder Alfred Mathok confirmed the arrest of the teachers.
He says the ministry gave out the teachers’ incentives and Ngath Secondary School was allocated one million and eight hundred thousand South Sudanese Pounds.
Police report indicates that at least eighty three thousand five hundred South Sudanese Pounds are missing.
Agolder explained that the other teachers have been paid and that the case of the two will be a court case.
According to the police, the two teachers would appear before the high court on Thursday August 1, 2019 to respond to charges of corruption allegation.
Alfred Ater is a member of the committee that is suing the former deputy governor William Koji over corruption allegation.
