South Sudanese during the Martyrs’ Day commemoration remind the leadership the country that Dr. John Garang and many other martyrs during on behalf of every south Sudanese and not for army.
Let women of South Sudan unite and work for peace if our men cannot achieve peace fully, because our founding father Dr John Garang has died for us the citizens not only the army, says a citizen.
Rebecca Ajak, advises the authority to work seriously on implementation of the revitalised peace agreement to fulfil the needs of the country and avoid returning into conflict and civil wars.
A former child soldier and member of the Red Army joined since 1989 says he was fighting for the independence and peaceful South Sudan. He adds that he feels proud seeing the flag waving means achievement that he struggled for with the martyrs that makes the day special.
A Commander from SPLA-North in the Nuba Mountains, Amin Markaz Kubri says the day is special and he hopes the government and the SPLM party to work hard on its activities to make peace permanent for the good of the country and its people.
A citizen, Rosario Ukel Opio, 65-year-old urges the army to obey their commander-in-chief and avoid misunderstanding among themselves. Ukel adds that the martyrs died for everyone and they should be respected and talked about in the country’s history.
The citizens were giving their reactions and observation during the Martyrs Day commemoration at Freedom Square in Juba, South Sudan.
