Parliamentarian says children suffer most due to conflict

A Member of Yei Transitional Legislative Assembly says children are suffering a lot in the rural areas due to conflict that broke out in the country.
 
Lokoroto Daniel Arama during celebration of the Day of African Child stresses that it is parent’s responsibility to take care of their children.
 
He adds children are the next generation of South Sudan.
 
‘The children are the next generation of this country as we celebrate the African Child Day let’s remember those in rural areas who are facing different challenges like lack of education’, the official adds.
 
The MP mentions that the government has set up tools for transformation of society and socio-economical development.
 
Daniel explains that one of the tools for human resource development is the ministry of education.
 
The Day of African child is commemorated annually on June 16th but the celebration in Yei was postponed to July 26th due to logistical challenges.
 
The African Child Day was celebrated under the theme ‘Humanitarian Action in Africa: Children First’
