FORMER UN CHIEF CALLS FOR REFERENDUM RESULTS TO BE RESPECTED

Former UN Secretary General has called upon the world to respect the results of the referendum on Souh Sudan self-determination no matter the out-come.

Addressing the press on Sunday after visiting a polling station in Juba, Kofi Annan stressed the need to respect the outcome of the referendum exercise.

He added that it was democracy at work, where people were choosing their future.

Mr. Annan was speaking alongside Jimmy Carter former president of USA. Both are leading voter observers for the Carter Center.
