School girls vow not to be deceived by boys

Female learners of St Theresa and Bright Academy Primary Schools in Torit on Fridays vowed not to allow boys to deceive them for marriage while studying.
 
According to the pupils, misbehaving with boys for wealth, results to unwanted pregnancy and school dropout
 
Sharon Atimako, a pupil of Christ Bright Academy calls on fellow school girls to commit themselves to studies so as to avoid school dropout
 
Many school girls drop out due to the love of material wealth and lack of commitment to education, she points out.
 
Whereas Elizabeth Safari, a pupil at St Theresa Primary School encourages her fellow pupils not to value money, but  instead focus on education for a better future.
 
She also asks learners to listen to their parents’ advice
 
The learner adds that many boys use other people’s resources to attract girls for relationships.
 
Inspector of Education at Torit Municipal Council Akulu Betty is appealing to partners to create more awareness on the dangers of early pregnancy and school dropout.
 
She attributes poverty to major cause of school dropout among school going children.
 
Over 45 pupils from St Theresa and Bright Christ Academy on Friday met at Catholic Relief Services Hall to watch a film screening on WAJA TA JENA simple Arabic word meaning pain of a child.
 
The aim of the film is to educate young girls and boys on the dangers and pains during early pregnancy and school dropout.
