Lack of drugs supplies put citizens at risk of waterborne diseases in Blue Nile region, according to Coordination Unit.
Coordination Unit in its July report says that with floods in Blue Nile, the risk of the spread of waterborne diseases is high.
The report says only five out of 28 health clinics have an adequate supply of basic drugs at this time in areas regularly monitored by the Coordination Unit.
The report further indicated that cases of acute diarrhea have been noted both in Nuba Mountains and Blue Nile regions.
Without a proper functioning surveillance system, illnesses can advance quickly before action is taken to curb the spread of preventable diseases, it cautions.
The report mentions that malaria cases are increasing due to the rainy season in Nuba Mountains and Blue Nile States.
