Yei Municipal Council is carrying out general public and residential area inspection on hygiene and business places operating without license.
Deputy Mayor of Yei, Khemis Noah Kisanga told Radio Easter that they inspect residential areas on hygiene and business licenses.
He adds that they gave an order probating local bars from early operation which attract soldiers in uniform and guns.
‘There are some people who make local alcohol and find soldiers with guns, dressed in uniform drinking alcohol very early in the morning at eight AM. If we find them, we will arrest the bar owner immediately because we ordered that no alcohol should be taken in the morning except in the evening’, warns Noah, Deputy Mayor of Yei.
Noah explains that their main aim of the inspection was to prevent the public from contracting diseases.
‘Our issue is not money. Our issue is that, we want our people to be clean because protection is better than cure. If you fall sick and visit clinics, it takes a lot of money. So you protect yourself. This is what we want. We want the municipality to be clean’, he stresses.
The Deputy Mayor points out that if people keep themselves clean they will not spend much for treatment.
