The authorities of Wau State are expected this week to officially open Agok Bridge as vehicles are already started passing through with goods since last week, says Mayor.
Elisabeth Mario explains that the bridge was not safe for the cars to move, but since last week trucks carrying food ratios to internally displaced persons or IDPs started moving to camps via it.
The plan on the bridge is to fence it to avoid people falling off vehicles to pass well, she discloses.
‘The bridge was not safe it was risky for individuals to pass cross because it was not fenced that is why I have decided that it should be fixed’, she adds.
Earlier residents of Agok area and IDPs complained of how unsafe the bridge was because it was blocking the food suppliers to reach the area and farmers from their cultivation.
