Wau State Legislative Assembly on Monday summoned the Minister of Public Service who was the chairperson of Independence Day committee over the disrespect of MPs during the celebrations.
Acting Speaker Viola Alexander Umeli, said during the celebration Assembly members were not put according to protocol due to ignorance.
Top legislator points out that the Minister of Health was given a vote of no confidence by the Assembly, yet during the celebration he was considered as a VIP.
She mentions that the Chairperson James Arnes was not straight forward and could not give clear answers to some questions asked by the Assembly.
Meanwhile chairperson of Information Committee in the Assembly, Agiu Athuai Agui says some citizens and foreigners’ properties like phones were taken from them during the celebration.
MPs were given VIPs invitation cards, but they were not recognized and searched at the gate and not given chairs in the celebration, Athuai stresses.
The chairperson of the high committee for the Independence Day celebration is given one week to return with some of his sub committees and clear answers without any doubt.
Minister James Arnes refused to speak on his behalf to Voice of Hope Radio for his summon.
