The Diocesan Coordinator of the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek, on Sunday challenged the Christians to take Christianity as religion of compassion, love and unity not of hatred.
Monsignor John Mathiang Manchol on Sunday urged the faithful to have compassionate hearts to their brothers and sisters who need help.
The Coordinator added that ‘our neighbours are those that need our help and support not just a neighbourhood without assistance and solidarity’.
He clarified that Christians do not have tribes, regions or clans but all belong to God that embrace all the people.
Monsignor Mathiang urged the faithful to extend the love of God to their brothers and sisters through actions.
The Diocesan Coordinator called on Christians to emulate the Good Samaritan who helped the man beaten by robbers on his way from Jerusalem to Jericho.
He was delivering his sermon to the congregation on Sunday in Rumbek.
