Gok State on Tuesday joined the rest of the states in the commemoration of the 8th anniversary of South Sudan’s independence despite the economic hardships in the country.
Minister of Information John Madol Panther told Good News Radio on Wednesday that the celebration was colourful as people turned up in big numbers to mark the historical day.
Madol added that the governor Madhang Majok Meen instructed all organized forces to disarm unauthorized personnel in the counties and the state.
He said people of Gok are for peace and will always remain for peace with their neighbours.
The minister urges the neighbouring states to embrace peace and avoid attacks against each other.
The minister talked to Good News Radio on a phone interview on Wednesday in Gok State.
