Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro said the referendum vote was willed by God and its result will be a blessing.

Archbishop Daniel Deng Bul, the ECS Primate, urged people to unite to cross together the bridge for the new nation.

Archbishop Deng urged people to leave old grievances for a fresh start.

The two archbishops were accompanied by many church personnel including one cardinal and three bishops from abroad who are observing the vote in South Sudan.
