Don Bosco leads Tonj State in Secondary exams

Don Bosco Secondary School emerged number one in South Sudan Senior four results with 100 percent passed, this was announced by Tonj State Minister of Education.
 
Education Minister Deng Madut Deng says Ghazal Secondary followed with 95.2 percent passed and Warrap Secondary School became the third with 92.8 percent.
 
He adds that St Mary Secondary became the last school with only 53 percent passed.
 
Madut says the first position was taken by a girl and the second and third positions were taken by science and Arts sections from Don Bosco Secondary.
 
He explains that in the top ten, only one boy was from Ghazal Secondary School, but the rest were from Don Bosco Senior Secondary School.
 
The minister appreciates the students who performed well for their hard work and encourages those who failed not to lose hope.
 
The total number of students who registered to sit for exams was 422: 45 females and 377 males, but 20 students comprising of four girls and sixteen boys did not turn up, says Madut.
 
He adds that out of 422 students, 360 students passed the exams, where two hundred and 81 were boys and 35 girls.
 
The Minister discloses that the girls performed better than boys in the state with 77.8 percent compared to 74.5 percent boys this year.
 
He says the percentage of this year that passed is higher than that of last year.
