Saints Peter and Paul Gidel Parish in El-Obeid Catholic Diocese and Primary School celebrated the feast of their patron on Saturday.

During the Eucharistic celebration, Parish Priest, James William Silgat, urged believers to have strong faith to imitate the work of Peter and Paul.

He says St Peter was chosen by God to take care of the Church and St Paul who was persecuting Christians was later converted to Christianity when he met Jesus on his way to Damascus where he killed and tortured Christians in prison.

Fr William mentioned that ‘we can become saints like Peter and Paul despite of our human weaknesses if we repent from our sins’.

He asks Christians to pray to God so that He can help them to live the life of Sts Peter and Paul.

Sts Peter and Paul Primary School pupils on Saturday presented songs, traditional dances and poems during their feast.

The day concluded with football match between Gidel Parish youth and St Joseph Secondary students.
