UNMISS trains South Sudan Defence Force on conflict, sexual prevention

UN Mission in South Sudan, or UNMISS has conducted National Action Plan training to South Sudan Defence Force on prevention of conflict related sexual violence.
 
UNMISS Human Rights Division Officer in Rumbek; John Oziegbe says the training aims at preventing sexual violence.
 
He appeals to people of Rumbek and South Sudan at large to stop sexual violence in the country.
 
Major General Malaak Ayuen Majok is the Director of Information, in Public and Civil Military Relation. He admits that conflict related sexual violence in South Sudan is a major issue affecting women and girls.
 
He urges his fellow commanders to implement action plan in their working locations to safe the society from sexual violence. 
 
State Minister of Information Isaac Majak Ror calls on SSPDF to apply penal law to address cases of rape.
 
The officials made the remarks to Good News Radio on Tuesday Morning during one day training organized by UNMISS Human rights Division in Rumbek.
