The European Union chief observer praised the referendum authorities for preparing the consultation well and on time.
Veronique De Keyser, a Belgian Member of the European Parliament, is the Chief Observer of the European Union Election Observation Mission. She praised the preparations made by the referendum authorities through the mike of SCR News.Ms De Keyser said she hoped that today’s great mood at voting centres lasted for the whole week.
She added that what matters is that people have the possibility to vote in a free and fair manner.
Ms De Keyser heads a 110-strong observers group, the largest international mission monitoring the vote in South Sudan.
