Yei River State joins rest of the world in commemorating the International Day of Refugee under the theme: Take a step with a refugee’ at Nyori Refugee settlement.
Addressing the gathering the acting Governor of Yei River State Yusto Baba Dema says many citizens of Yei became Refugees in the neighboring Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo, Radio Easter Reports.
Yusto Baba expresses gratitude to UNCHR for the persistent fight to provide safety, and protection to both Congolese refugees and South Sudanese IDPs in the state.
The Government official was addressing the crowd at Nyori Refugee settlement on Thursday in Otogo County.
