The overall majority of nominations forms submitted to the Central Equatoria State High Electoral Committee were from independent candidates, said an official.
Mr. Hezekiah Jonathan, returning officer of the State High Committee told Sudan Catholic Radio News that so far 22 application forms have been submitted, and 20 of them are from independent candidates.He clarified that the applications to the post of President of Southern Sudan have to be submitted to the Southern Sudan High Committee, but not the applications to the post of MP at the GOSS level, which have still to be submitted to the respective State High Committee, since the verification process will be carried out at the level of the state, to which the constituency of the individual candidate belongs.
