More than sixty returnees arrived in Tonj South County from Khartoum.

The returnees travelled in three minibuses and three trucks with their properties. The transportation was organized by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) that helped returnees to go back to their home areas, Don Bosco Radio reported.

SSRRC secretary Gordon Makuer said that boreholes and latrines for returnees were repaired.

Mr. Makuer added that the returnees will be reintegrated into local communities after three months.

Mr. Makuer said more than ten bulls were given by local chiefs and administrators as a gift to the returnees.

He added that the Save Harbour organization promised cloths, children’s shoes and medical assistance.

World Vision in collaboration with World Food Program will help feed malnourished children.

Mr. Makuer said county officials will take care of those without parents and give everyone a plot of land after a survey for settlement.

Mr. Makuer mentioned that the county expects more than seven hundred returnees in the near future.
