Yei River State on Wednesday joined United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS and the world in celebrating the UN Peacekeepers Day at Yei Freedom Square.
Geetha Pious, head of UNMISS head of field office in Juba says the day is to honour those who sacrificed their lives for peace in South Sudan, Radio Easter reports.
She says some peacekeepers are deployed to difficult locations across the world.
The officer extends her gratitude to the peacekeepers who are serving in Yei particularly and South Sudan in General.
The commemoration was done at Yei Freedom Square in Yei Town.
