Referendum authorities and the European Union organized a one-day media workshop in Juba in a bid to involve media practitioners in the on-going plebiscite process.

EU head of office Jesus Orus Baguena said the media is very crucial for any democratic and transparent process.
Journalists were urged to avoid negative reporting that could lead to post-referendum violence and to promote the cooperation and good relations between north and south Sudan.
