Pregnancy and sexual transmitted diseases are high among the young people, says heath officer at Cathedral Collective Center in Wau.
The data was revealed during a one-day workshop for youth to conduct awareness on how they can protect themselves and use defensive measures correctly.
Awadallah Juma says the rise was a result of practicing sex outside marriage.
He adds that the presence of youth at the IDPs camps without their families contributes a lot to these bad practices.
Juma points out that one of the challenges facing them is the issue of early or unwanted pregnancy among teenagers which normally leads to abortion.
He explains that one of the ways to fight this issue among young people is by making them know the importance of family planning.
The speaker encourages husbands to allow their wives use family planning methods to provide space between children for mothers to stay in good health.
