President Kiir pledges to use resources for consolidating peace

The President of the Republic says he stands for peace and stability and would use all resources for strengthening tranquility in South Sudan.
 
Salva Kiir Mayardit while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the National Legislature on Tuesday in Juba said he was shocked when Pope Francis knelt down to kiss his feet and his designated vices.
 
The President clarifies that Pope’s blessing to the leaders and people of South Sudan is the true work of Jesus in the world.
 
He promises that Pope is a peace partner of South Sudanese people and their leaders.
 
President Kiir calls for collective efforts of all parties to quickly implement the revitalized peace agreement.
 
He repeats inviting Dr Riek Machar to Juba and that he has forgiven him and they become peace partners.
 
Speaker of the National Parliament Anthony Lino Makana admits that Pope’s blessing to South Sudan will strengthen peace in the young country.
 
The top officials were addressing 2019 first inaugural ceremony of the National Legislative Assembly on Tuesday under the theme: ‘Enhancing peace in the Republic of South Sudan’.
