Civil society condemns continuous cattle raiding and inter-communal fights

The Civil Society Organizations Network or CiSON in Lakes region condemns the continuous cattle raiding that occurred on Friday and Saturday in the cattle camps.
 
The armed youth of Pakam community led by allies are accused of launching large scale cattle raiding in of Amongpiny County, Aleek, Pulbaar, Payak and Mabor major cattle camps.
 
The unclassified cattle raided on Friday include cows kept for vulnerable people like children and elders of Amokpiny villages.
 
More than five people were reported killed in the fight, living hundreds of people displaced from their homes and grazing land.
 
CiSON is calling on state government to intervene quickly by deploying forces necessary in order to protect vulnerable people in the area.
 
‘We are calling on the family of those affected by the incident to be courageous enough, remain calm and leave the issue to the state government’, read parts of CiSON’s statement.
 
CiSON also pray for the souls of our beloved departed one to rest in eternal peace, Amen!
