South Sudan celebrates International Nurses and Midwifery day in Rumbek

South Sudan Nurses and Midwives Association, Rumbek branch joined the world on Friday to commemorate the international day for nurses and midwifery in the country.
 
The event was celebrated under the theme: ‘Midwives Defenders of Women’s Rights and Nurses Voice to Lead Health for All’
 
Acting Principal of Rumbek Health Science Institute, Deng Makur Mabeny says nurses and midwives are the light of people.
 
He encourages them to love their job and improve health system in the state.
 
UNFPA Field Office representative, Atieno Ogol appreciates the nurses and midwives for job well-done in saving people’s lives.
 
Chairperson of South Sudan Nurses and Midwives Association or SSNAMA, Monica Achieen Bol argues that nurses and midwives are important pillars and strength of health sector in any country.
 
The nurses and midwives express their happiness for the recognition given to them across the globe and promise to deliver better health services to all.
 
The speakers made the remarks to Good News Radio at Rumbek Health Science Institute during the Nurses and Midwifery celebration organised by UNFPA.
