Ministry of Transport tells officials not to interfere with air aviation companies
The Ministry of Transport Civil Aviation Authority frowns at some generals or officials who force air plane companies to take their relatives to any location even when the plane is full.
Jaling Deloro Yeng-Keji, chairman of the committee formed by the Minister of Transport to investigate the plane that crashed in Yirol reports that some officials use force for their family members to board cargo planes.
He calls on authorities not to interfere with the work of the aircrafts.
‘Sometimes they are forced to take passengers by high rank officials or who I don’t know. Even if they go to from here to Yirol, Bentiue, or where in these remote areas, the authorities there in that particular place or town, hold the aircraft hostage and say if you don’t take my passengers you’re not taking off. This is contrary to the aviation laws. It’s not good. So we would advise the authorities in the states not to behave in such a way, but please, to let the aircraft conduct it’s normal routine operations. If it is cargo, it takes cargo and comes back empty’ the Chairman stressed.
Minister John Luk Jok says cargo is not meant for passengers.
He urges the security to prevent unnecessary entrance to cargo to prevent accidents.
‘Our citizens should not run into danger by boarding aircrafts that are not meant for passenger transport. The security within the state should be able to prevent that. This is one of the resolutions that council of ministers made which we have to implement. Actually my position was that we have to ban the operation of any cargo plane here. Our people become uncontrollable when they see they will be desperate not knowing the dangers that are involved. But offcourse it was said that we have to talk to our authorities within the states and tell them that they should not allow anybody bording as a passenger in any of the cargo airplane’, said the Minister.
The minister was talking to the press following the investigations into the plane which crashed in Yirol in September last year.
