The Commissioner of Tonj forbids burning of forest and exploitation of the natural resources due to illegal cutting down of timbers and other trees.

Joseph Anei Mador issued the order after he received complaints from the community about random cutting down of tress in the county.

Mador says anyone in needs of timbers or other resources in the forest should consult the authorities concerned.

The Commissioner warns that those found illegally cutting mahogany will face the law.

Anei also ordered that illegal selling of cows and goats without bringing to auction will lead to penalties including imprisonment and paying of 20,000 SSP as fine.

He urges all goats and cows’ sellers to bring their animals to the auction in order to avoid the problems between them and the government.
