The United Sudan African Party (USAP) confirmed that it stands for separation in the upcoming referendum for the people of southern Sudan.
Jimmy Wungu is a prominent figure in the party. He told Bakhita Radio that USAP is calling for the full independence of south Sudan.Professor Wungu said separation was the only way to develop south Sudan and gain respect.
Professor Wungu called on all registered citizens to cast their vote for separation.
He added that a vote for separation is a vote for freedom and dignity.
Four days are left for the plebiscite to take place. The vote will kick off on Sunday, January 9, and ends on Saturday, January 15.
