EALA to debate on Youth Council Bill 2017 in Arusha

The East African Legislative Assembly or EALA has resumed sitting this week and is expected to debate on major issues including Community Youth Council Bill 2017 in Arusha, Tanzania.
 
Statement says lawmakers during the meeting will discuss the report of the committee on consideration and review of the accounts report for the financial year that ended on June 30th, 2017.
 
EALA says the report of Committee of Agriculture, Tourism and Natural Resources, an activity that took place in March this year will be tabled.
 
The objective of the EAC Youth Council Bill, 2017 is to provide a legal framework for the harmonization of laws and policies regarding the youth in the community.
 
This Bill based on the Treaty for EAC Establishment, seeks to implement the Youth Policy, 2014, that is an integral component of the fourth development strategy.
 
The strategy identifies strengthening and promotion of policies, laws and programs that focus on the development of youth in the region.
 
This will be the fifth meeting of second session of the EALA in Arusha Tanzania.
