Emeritus Bishop of Torit Diocese is urging all South Sudanese to forget their past and embrace the cross this Easter season.

Bishop Paride Taban in his Easter message says human beings have been slaves of their own sins, but Jesus made them free as children of God.

He adds that by Jesus’ Resurrection, He defeated death and gave all the new life of Grace.

The emeritus bishop expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Pope Francis for his great Love to the people of South Sudan.

He adds that Christians celebrate the mystery of the Lord’s Resurrection for forty days.

The Lord’s Ascension and Pentecost are the final memorial days of the Easter celebration.
