Agencies urge communities to maintain peaceful coexistence in Lakes

Disable Agency for Rehabilitation and Development or DARD with support from SAFERWROLD call on communities to maintain peaceful coexistence in Lakes States.
 
The call came when communities of Kook Pan Awac and Pan-Akorbil tentatively agreed to live in peaceful coexistence and promote peaceful coexistence in the neighborhood.
 
The community peace dialogue between Kook Pan Awac and Pan-Akorbil under the theme: ‘Promoting peaceful neighborhood’ is being organized by DARD in partnership with SAFERWORLD.
 
The two communities said that it is time people stay in peace in order to implement lasting peace.
 
Bol Makuac who is one of the Gelweng youth from Pan-Akorbil side mentions that forgiveness and reconciliation should be done in order for peace to reign in one’s heart.
 
He urges his fellow youth to promote peace and solidarity and avoid immoral deeds in the country.
 
Majok Deng, Youth from Kook Pan Awac says charity should be prioritized within the country by helping the returnees with basic needs that they are lacking.
 
‘It is our expectation to see all the communities of different tribes coming together and have dialogues among themselves in order to eradicate evils things in our hearts’, he requested.
 
Majok Mon Mareec, SAFERWORLD Area Program Manager says their organization is working to prevent violent conflict and build safer lives in the community.
 
SAFERWORLD has been supporting different communities countrywide in resolving communal conflict that affect them.
 
The community peace dialogue was organized by Disable Agency for Rehabilitation and Development or DARD with support from SAFERWROLD.
 
The dialogue brought together two hundred and fifty youth, chiefs, intellectuals, women leaders and other stakeholders.
