GELA calls for formation of County Land Authority

Project Coordinator for Greater Equatoria Land Alliance or GELA urges Torit government to form County Land Authority to oversee land issues in the state.
 
According to Simon Ebul, the formation of County and Payam Land Council in the state will help reduce land disputes and grabbling among communities, Radio Emmanuel reports.
 
He expresses their commitment in advocating for land ownership and access to land as a right of all citizens.
 
Flora Sebit Jada, Executive Director for Women Agency for Progress Organization or WAPO calls on the state government to stop duplication of plots for personal gains.
 
She advises government officials to respect and leave open spaces for public use instead of their self-interest.
 
While Oryem Bosco, member of Greater Equatoria Land Alliance appeals to the state government to educate citizens on land policies.
 
The speakers made the statement to Radio Emmanuel during live radio talk show on land rights and resource management in Torit on Tuesday.
