The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Torit calls on priests to be faithful to their vocation.

Bishop Stephen Ameyu Martine Mulla encourages priests to keep their promises that they have made during their priestly ordination, Emmanuel Radio reports.

‘We have been called to this important ministerial priesthood that we received by the consecrations of our ordination, the Lord has call us to be faithful servants all of us in fact we know that when we celebrate this Chrism mass it must be clear in our minds that we are united we are in communion all of us who live in this diocese God has call us in order to represent his people in this potion of land that he has granted us as our diocese’

Bishop Ameyu explains to the priests that the Chrism mass is a sign of unity and being in communion with God.

‘Priesthood is one of the most prestigious and most respectful kinds of job that people can do, it is also a humble job because the priests represent God and his represent his people. Giving service to God and his people in the spirit of God not in our own spirit not in our own souls but we represent God, so to follow the will of Jesus is to follow the will of the father to submit of ourselves to Jesus whole heartedly it is to submit to the will of God.’

Bishop Stephen Ameyu made the remarks while preaching at Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral during Chrism mass on Wednesday in Torit.
