The Director-General in the Ministry of Agriculture is appealing to the farmers in the villages of Yei to start cultivation following the onset of the rains.
Edmond Taban Gogo says the roads are opened and there is free movement of people to the rural markets of Ombasi and Kejiko, Radio Easter reports.
He calls on farmers to cultivate more food to feed the population in Yei.
Taban says with the relative calm in Yei, there is a high expectation of good production this year.
