FAO educates farmers on fall army-worm in Yambio

The United Nations Food and Agriculture organization or FAO has conducted one day awareness to groups of farmers in Masumbu Boma of Yambio County.
 
The awareness focused on the impacts of fall army-worm in South
Sudan.
 
FAO Field Officer, Louis Bagare stresses on the importance of wider awareness in the community to increase food production in the country.
 
Director of Agriculture and Extension Service in Gbudue State, Abisai Yepeta, says Fall Armyworms lowered the agricultural activities in the state. He calls for collective efforts to reduce the impacts of Fall Armyworm.
 
However, Crop Specialist for Star Trust Organization Anthony Mori laments that there is no chemical yet for killing the fall armyworm.
 
The speakers made the remarks during a special radio programming in Bethlehem.
