The governor of Tambura State says his government is committed to peace.
According to Radio Anisa, Patrick Raphael Zamoi promises to cooperate with the SPLM/A-IO on the provisions of the revitalized peace agreement.
Zamoi requests members of the IO to pay a longer visit to Tambura State to engage the community in the peace process.
On the other hand, the SPLM/A-IO Commander urges the people of Tambura State not to return to the bush because war is destructive.
James Nando says the revitalized peace agreement answers all questions of South Sudanese.
The speakers made these remarks during a peace celebration organised by UNMISS last week in Tambura under the theme: ‘Peace for all’. It brought together government officials and SPLM/A-IO.
This is the first time for the SPLM/A-IO to join the government of Tambura State in a peace celebration.
