Forgive and have sympathy to the poor, Parish Priest of St. Peter and Paul’s Cathedral in Torit Catholic Diocese encourages faithful.

Fr Leonsio Omina Okwormoi asks Christians to change their hearts for peace to prevail in the country.

‘Let us pray hard for our people for peace to enter their hearts. We pray that peace will really reign in our hearts. But it will come when we forgive our brothers and sisters. It is the forgiveness that Jesus wants. Jesus teaches us to be always merciful, especially in this time of Lent is mainly for us to forgive one another. Let us also change our minds and hearts By that, our hearts will really be pure as children of God’, he explains.

The priest says peace is crucial in the development of Christians’ faith and happiness.

‘Peace messages are the most important teaching during this season of lent and more so we should have mercy to those who are poor and to also pray for them. This is what God expects from us during this day. So we should bring joy and happiness to all’, he notes.
