The Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan is urging political leaders to put people’s demands and needs into policies.

James Wani Igga advises parties to reach down to grassroots to hear people’s demands for peace to prevail in the country.

He says the government is for the people and the people are for the government.

‘Every political parties must turn the demand of the people into general policies. You go out there to reach the people. Study what they need and turn all those into policies because we are here on behalf of the people as a government. If you are alone what can you do without the people?, he asked’

Wani Igga calls on SPLM party to take lead in soliciting and prioritizing citizen’s needs.

‘Every political party has to solicit and prioritize needs of the people. For example, what do the people in the remote Boma or areas need? what do they want,? Do they want water? Schools? or they want hospital? But if you don’t go to them, then you are not doing the right thing. So these are the important parts that every political parties must do and the SPLM which is the ruling party should be the forefront, The Vice President adviced’.
