GoSS President assured the people of south Sudan that he would lead them wherever they wanted to go through the referendum vote.
Salva Kiir Mayardit told the congregation at St. Teresa’s Catholic Cathedral, in Juba, after the New Year’s Mass, that many people were not sure that Southerners would reach the referendum due to the immense difficulties they faced in the last six years.Mr. Kiir assured Southerners that he is a good captain and will lead the people of south Sudan on the road they choose.
Mr. Kiir explained that many people defected from the SPLM, claiming that he was not leading the region in the right direction.
He blamed the defectors for lacking confidence in themselves.
The referendum on self determination for the people of south Sudan is six days away and the vote ends on January 15.
