A leading SPLM official called upon people all over south Sudan to return to the places where they registered in order to vote on Sunday.
SPLM Deputy Secretary General for the Southern Sector, Anne Itto, told journalists this morning in Juba that she was concerned over those who travelled for Christmas and New Year did not return yet to the places where they registered for the vote.Dr. Itto called upon those who took refuge in the countryside over war rumours to come back to Juba and other centres.
She assured that security forces were prepared and deployed to maintain security ahead of the referendum and there will be no war.
Dr. Itto called upon traders to stop running away in fear of destabilization and reopen their shops.
Dr. Itto urged the public not to listen to rumours.
She said the security forces were ready to protect the region during and after the referendum.
Dr. Itto appealed for calm among the public urging them to report to the concerned authorities any suspicious move.
