The media laws should be harmonized by the media institutions and media authority because other laws had been reviewed, says Chairlady of Association of Media Development in South Sudan or AMDISS.
Mary Ajith Goch, appeals to the media bodies to review the media laws and the security sector should argue with the individuals who violate the law.
Ajith advised the media authority to develop and revive the media laws and institutions instead of regulating while the media bodies are already regulated.
The authority restricting the media houses without reviving and it’s killing the development, she adds.
Michael Makuei Lueth, Minister of Information says the media laws will be reviewed by the NCAC and will be amended but the other laws like security laws was the priority in the agreement.
The officials were giving their closing remarks on Thursday during the security sectors national media roadmap training that attracted around 250 participants from the organise forced, civil society and media bodies.
The training is a continuation of the national media roadmap organized by Journalists for Human Rights Organization in South Sudan and the Media Authority.
