The Governor of the Nuba Mountains says sports and games create unity and peace among different communities.
Speaking to the gathering on Friday during the opening of the competition in Kauda Football Playground, Anur Saleh hailed the secretariat of media, culture and youth for organizing sports activities, Voice of Peace Radio reports.
He earlier saluted the fallen heroes and heroines an pointed out that games, dances and arts are the strength and foundation of the community.
The governor advised all the football teams, participants and spectators to respect one another so as to begin and end their activities in peace.
At least 10 different teams around the Nuba Mountains in the areas under the control of the SPLM-N are taking part in this special football competition organized by secretariat of media, culture and youth in the memory of the late Yousif Kuwa Mekki.
