About 3,500 IDPs who were displaced from their villages are currently settled in Kwarjina County for their safety and wellbeing.

Director of Relief and Rehabilitation Commission in Wau State, Michael Geba, says the IDPs are now living in Kwarjina County as displaced persons, Voice of Hope Radio reports.

He added that the same incident happened in Mapel, where 3,400 IDPs were also displaced from Alur County and are now settled in Mapel.

Geba mentioned that during the displacement some people lost their lives and seven ladies were raped including two teenagers.

He calls for humanitarian assistance and that he has reported to some humanitarian partners to support the victims.
