Torit state Minister of Physical Infrastructure revealed that the ministry plans to provide spaces for sports activities in all residential areas in the town.
Addressing Eastern Equatoria Athletes at the state Secretariat Hall on Monday Tito Longoya says in order to develop sports in the state, more playing grounds should be demarcated for the activities.
Tito regrets that the playing grounds within the town have been used for settlement by other people.
‘I tell you from today on the past mistakes cannot repeat itself, we are going to put play grounds in all the new areas. These open spaces are meant for a purpose, not demarcation’,
Meanwhile, Minister of Information, Culture, Youth and Sports Margaret Idwa Dominica tasks the state Ministry of Physical Infrastructure to speed up finding spaces for sports.
Torit town currently has only the Freedom Square where all government activities are held including sports.
