Director-General for Agriculture and Forestry in Torit State worries that the area is at risk of hunger this year due to unreliable rainfall.
Romeo Ojinga told Radio Emmanuel that the farmers are faced with several challenges since last year.
The Director-General beliefs the hunger is also caused by unnecessary bush burning whereby a number of gardens got burnt.
He urges farmers to report cases of wild fire so that the government can support them.
The director reveals another major challenge farmers are facing is use of long-variety crops which does not help grow fast.
