The Association of Graduate on Saturday passed out seven candidates who completed their studies of Midwives and Nurses at Jebel Kheir or Goti-Luma center in Wau.

Catholic Health Training Institution Coordinator and Diocesan Advisor Mathew Francis Juma said they have only seven graduates out of twenty-one students admitted from 2010-2018.

He mentioned that the graduants are Midwives and Nurses and pointed out that, the new intake for the year 2019 is 13 students from Catholic Diocese of Wau.

Francis encourages graduates as well as others like artists to do bachelor and, masters’ degrees and later doctorate in arts, midwifery and nursing.

State Minister of health Dr James Patrick Ibrahim said the percentage of admission is very low from Wau even though there are four health institutions in Wau State.

Dr. Patrick said that at least 40 percent of admission should come from Wau and 60 percent comes from other states.

He added that without education people cannot go ahead and there would be lack of qualified human resources.

The minister James said, that greater Wau County has 41 health facilities, but only 14 are working.

Dr Patrick emphasizes that, people must concentrate in human resources development and later we think of other services.

He encourages parents to take a serious decision about education of their children.

During the graduation the graduates expressed their happiness in the ceremony after their graduation.

Catholic Health Training Institution will soon graduate 17 other candidates.
