Kumu Community allocates 6 kilometer square of land for development

The community of Lower Kumu in Nuba Mountains has allocated a piece of land to government employees working in Kauda town.
 
Engineer Izeddin Mohammed Margani is one of the persons involved in planning and land demarcation. He says Kumu community consulted local authority before giving the land to government officials working in Kauda after, Voice of Peace Radio Reports
 
He applauds Kumu chiefs and omad for giving the land for settlement, business and developmental activities.
 
Engineer Margani says 350 houses and over 460 shops have been demolished.
 
Gisma Adam Fadul, Secretary for Engineering Affairs, says the land demarcation plan is to create place for people who do not have land to settle in Kauda.
 
Officials say land demarcation exercise which started in Kunjani area of Lower Kumu will be extended to other parts of the Nuba Mountains region.
