Municipality renounces local tax collection in Tonj

Tonj municipal council legislative Assembly on Friday renounced the collection of local taxes rates from all residents of municipality.
 
According to Don Bosco Radio the town Mayor, Joseph Anei Madoor says, they are implementing a five years strategic plan presented last year.
 
He explains the council presented reconstruction of slaughtering slab and butchery house in Malith market.
 
Madoor stresses that municipal authority is organizing to send out administrative officers and block leaders to sensitize general public on the need to collect area rates per a household.
 
He adds each household will contribute at least 700 South Sudanese pounds.
 
The mayor assures citizens of the hard work of the council to stabilize inflation rate in the State.
 
Madoor explains that area rate collection will be used for financing local projects.
 
He appeals to the communities members to cooperate and work closely with municipal council.
 
The Mayor was speaking to Don Bosco Radio in Tonj on Friday.
